Workers Compensation
Patients injured while on the job, or while they performing some duty needed to do their job properly will have their medical and rehabilitation costs covered under state law according to the Connecticut Workers Compensation Commission.
The type of medical care needed for each workers compensation case may vary, but many injuries will benefit from chiropractic care as it provides a long range solution for back pain, headaches and migraines, neck pain, and other injury types that are suffered on the job.
If you have been injured while on the job and are currently receiving medical care or if you would like to try chiropractic treatment as a rehabilitation solution for your injury, most of the time the workers compensation commission will allow this type of care. Both chiropractic care and massage therapy are effective treatments for active workers compensation claims for injury rehabilitation and natural healing.
Workers Compensation Injuries Treated with Massage and Chiropractic Therapy
Workers compensation injuries may include a slip and fall accident, a fall from a ladder, or injuries that were incurred after tripping over a hazard or some type of unsafe surface. Other workers comp injuries may have happened on the road if driving or traveling is a part of your work duties.
Workers comp injuries may include broken bones, soft tissue injuries like whiplash, lower back pain related to spinal misalignment, or headaches and migraines. Injuries that are based in the soft tissues of the body -- including the muscles, tendons, and spinal column discs and nerves -- can often cause severe lack of mobility, back pain, neck pain, and headache pain. In many cases, a manual spinal adjustment can free trapped nerves, back discs, and neck discs and therefore give the patient almost immediate relief from pain and mobility issues.
In many cases, serious inflammation of the muscles and connective tissues in the body is causing pain and mobility issues for workers comp patients, and the chiropractor often suggests massage therapy as a good complement for spinal adjustment. Massage therapy is frequently used just before a spinal adjustment or a non-surgical spinal decompression treatment to help patients relax and to loosen muscles up. Massage therapy is also helpful for reducing inflammation, breaking up painful large scar tissue pockets within the muscles, and lowering pain level overall.
Rehabilitation in Neck and Back Pain Relief Center is part of recovery, and it is especially important so that patients can get back to work. Our goal in treating all workers comp cases is to return patients to the same level of health as they had before the accident at work. With the dedicated collaboration of patient and chiropractic doctor, we find this to be highly successful.
